Summer Internships in Government Agencies

Federal, State, Regional and/or Municipal agencies offer both research- or non-research-based internships. The organizations below can help you search through them.

  • Zintellect – This website provides listings of internships, experiential learning opportunities, academic fellowships, and scholarships funded by government and private sector organizations. Use the search options to narrow your search to opportunities for undergraduates.
  • USAJobs.gov – If you’re a current student or recent graduate, you may be eligible for federal internships and job opportunities through the USAJobs Pathways and other student programs.
  • The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) – The HACU National Internship Program (HNIP) stands as a testament to fostering the professional development of aspiring students of all communities nationwide. Partnering with corporate and federal entities, the HNIP offers internship opportunities that aim to prepare the next generation of leaders, bridging the gap between academics and real-world experience.
  • The National Institute of Health (NIH) – The NIH Summer Internship Program in Biomedical Research provides an opportunity to spend a summer working at the NIH side-by-side with some of the leading scientists in the world, in an environment devoted exclusively to biomedical research.
